These are the rules for using Hidden Bharat. They cover who can join, how joining a tribe and trips work, what we expect of you on a trip, and what we are and are not responsible for. By using the site you agree to them.
1. Who can use Hidden Bharat
You must be 18 or over. We check this when you complete your profile, and a seat on a trip is confirmed only after your profile is checked. You need a Google account to sign in, and you must give us accurate information — particularly your name, phone number, birth year and, if you add one, your social profile, since we rely on them to keep groups safe.
2. Joining a tribe
You complete a short profile, and it goes through automatic checks. If they pass, you join your tribe straight away; if something needs a look, one of our admins reviews it and may approve you, ask you to change something, or decline. We may later remove someone from a tribe at our discretion, usually because the details do not check out or because of conduct on a trip.
Your vibe quiz result is a starting point, not a guarantee. You join the tribe on your profile form — your quiz result, unless you pick another.
3. Trips
You book a trip by messaging us on WhatsApp — the “Check availability” button on a trip's page opens a chat with the trip and the date already typed. Messaging us does not reserve a place: your seat is confirmed only after your profile is checked and we have checked your ID, and only while seats remain. To cancel, contact us.
Before your seat is confirmed we check a government ID — in person, over video, or through the trip operator. We do not keep it; the Privacy Policy explains what we record instead.
Trips run on fixed dates with limited capacity, and dates, prices and itineraries can change — we will tell you if they do.
Prices shown on the site, and any price the AI planner estimates, are estimates. The amount you actually pay is whatever is confirmed to you in writing when you book.
4. How you are expected to behave
Small-group travel only works if everyone is decent to each other. You agree not to:
- harass, threaten or discriminate against anyone, on a trip, in a tribe group or in a crew;
- misrepresent who you are, or use someone else's identity or phone number;
- share another traveller's contact details, photos or personal information without their permission;
- use the platform to advertise, recruit or sell;
- do anything illegal on a trip, or anything that puts other travellers at risk.
We can suspend or remove an account for any of these, and may do so immediately where someone's safety is involved.
5. The AI planner
The planner is a research assistant, not travel advice. It summarises what it finds and cites its sources so you can check them yourself. It does not tell you whether a place is safe — that judgement is yours, and you should check official advisories and local conditions before you travel.
Plans, prices, opening times and conditions can be out of date or wrong. Verify anything that matters before you rely on it. Usage is limited per day, and we may change those limits.
6. Your own safety
Travel carries risk, and adventure travel more so. You are responsible for your own health, fitness, insurance, visas and permits, and for deciding whether a given trip suits you. A checked profile means an admin has reviewed the profile a member sent (and their social profile, if they shared one); an ID check means someone has seen their government ID before travel. Neither is a background check, and neither is a guarantee about anyone's conduct.
7. Our responsibility
We work hard to keep the platform accurate and available, but we provide it as it is. We are not liable for the acts of other travellers, for third-party operators, accommodation or transport, or for losses arising from information on the site being incomplete or out of date. Nothing here limits any liability that cannot be limited under Indian law.
8. Content and ownership
The Hidden Bharat name, design, written content and photography are ours or used under licence. You may not copy or reuse them commercially without permission. Anything you send us — quiz answers, profile details, messages — stays yours; you give us permission to use it to run the service, as described in the Privacy Policy.
9. Closing your account
You can ask us to close your account at any time through the contact page. We may close an account that breaks these terms. Where you have already paid for a trip, closing an account does not by itself entitle you to a refund — that is governed by the trip's own booking terms.
10. Trip crews
Every trip date has a crew for the people travelling, or thinking of travelling, on it. You can join once your profile has been checked. Joining is not booking and doesn't hold a seat — book with “Check availability”.
In a crew you agree not to:
- share phone numbers, email addresses, links or social handles — yours or anyone's — in any form;
- ask people to move the conversation somewhere else;
- post anything abusive, hateful, sexual or threatening, or harass anyone;
- advertise, sell or spam.
What you write is checked automatically before it's posted, and anything that breaks these rules isn't posted. Anyone can report a message or a person. We may remove what you wrote, warn you, mute you in every crew for a time, remove you from a crew, or close your account, and we record those decisions.
You are responsible for what you write. It stays yours; you give us permission to show it to the crew's members and to moderate it. It is deleted when you delete it or leave the crew, and in any case some time after the trip, as the Privacy Policy explains. To complain about something in a crew, or about a decision we made, write to us through the contact page with “Grievance” in the subject.
11. Changes and governing law
We may update these terms; the date at the top shows when they last changed, and we will tell you about anything significant. These terms are governed by the laws of India, and the courts of India have jurisdiction over any dispute.
